As a lifelong student of business, I’ve learned a few things and when the world-wide-web turned everything upside down, I had to learn some new things to adapt to the changing business environment.
I've been an entrepreneur since before it was a vocabulary word in my grade school English class. At 11 years old I started an entry level landscaping business, ok, more like a lawn mowing service. (I’m sure I’ll find somewhere on this site to share that story.) Even then I was an early adopter of technology and negotiated to have an electric lawnmower, no gas, oil or noise. Only a 100 ft. extension cord. I could get the work done in the cool of the early morning with virtually no noise and play for the rest of the day. A perfect business for a young boy.
I began developing my marketing and sales skills as a paperboy for the Denver Post. Back when newspapers were printed on paper and weighed about a pound on Sundays. I won the subscription drive for my area. (Another story I will probably tell on this site) Many decades later I still remember my sales pitch: I opened with an irresistible offer, listed the features and benefits of subscribing to the Post, then showed the value and closed with the same offer I opened with. And Sold a Lot of Newspapers!
Since then, I have ridden the entrepreneur roller coaster up and down along the unpredictable track of life.
In the early 2000’s, I saw that technology was going to really change things for small business owners and began my quest to understand and use the internet to market my business. In 2010, I launched a boutique style small business marketing service for business professionals, Dentists, Doctors, Lawyers, Electricians, Roofers, Plumbers, etc. I applied every online tool I could think of to grow their businesses, Websites, Google Business Pages, YouTube, Facebook, Emails, etc. It was a lot to manage but the right tools made a huge difference.
Over the next decade I helped dozens of small businesses, several of my clients grew their practice or business enough to sell them for a huge profit and retire. Along the way, I published and marketed a USA Today Bestseller, and one YouTube video went viral and has over 5 million views.
On this site I’m happy to share some of the tools, strategies and skills that have helped me with my online marketing and can help you reduce the hassle of building your own internet marketing system.
Now it’s time for me to help you with your online marketing by introducing you to the right internet tools to build your digital marketing system.
